Between 1989 and 1997 The Ukrainians played almost 400 concerts in the UK, Europe and North America. This album is a collection of the best desk tapes, professionally mastered. The tracks progress from the band's earliest performances - with The Wedding Present - to festival appearances in 1994. There are traditional Ukrainian songs and the group's own Ukrainian-language compositions plus live versions of songs from the universally acclaimed Pisni iz The Smiths EP. The latter was a chart success in twelve European countries - the record featuring the Ukrainians' unique and unforgettable vodka-fuelled renditions of songs, as you might have guessed, by The Smiths! The album also features a moving version of The Velvet Underground's "Venus In Furs".
